Processing the Unit Task: Travel Poster: You have been tasked with creating a travel poster to lure in tourists to boost our state economy. Create a creative poster that will give a good overview of what NC has to offer. (As a reminder, you can draw, print from the computer or cut pictures from a magazine.) DIRECTIONS for the poster are here if you need them.
Unit Task: The King of Spain has sent you as a spy to determine if the English colony attempts are a threat to his empire. Your group will gather information in order to present your findings about the settlement of Roanoke Island. You will need to clearly explain to the king why the attempts were successful or not and what you think should/could have been done differently.

Processing Assignment of the Unit Task: Work with your group to create a clear and concise document to present to the King (me) with your findings. Remember: What did they do wrong? What did they do right? How could the English have improved their chances of settlement?
Task: Your group has been given one of the following people: A Quaker farmer, a man in prison in England for not paying his bills, a woman in prison in England for stealing, a separatist farmer, a Catholic shop keeper, a wealthy landowner, a young sailor or a widowed woman with two young children. Work with your group to complete the following activities to determine which REGION and which COLONY would be the best place for your person to settle. You must support your decision with at least three valid reasons from your research.

Processing Assignment of Unit Task: Work with your group to create a written document that includes the following: 1) assigned person and their details 2) In which region and in which colony should this person settle? 3) Three reasons clearly explained why this area is the best place for your person to settle.
Unit Task: Your group has been sent to mediate the rising tension between the patriots and the Crown. It is your job to determine the three (3) major events that are causing unrest in the colonies. Then, you and your group will decide how best to get the two sides to agree. You will present your findings to the class and we will decide who has the best plan to stop the impending war.

Toward Revolution Preview: Open this slideshow and the Toward Revolution Preview I shared with you in Drive. Select File, Make a Copy. (Click Make a Copy for a video reminder of how do do this.) Rename it 24 Toward Revolution Preview and select File, Move To. (Click Move To for a video reminder of how do do this.) From there, select File, Move To, My Drive, Social Studies, NC History, Toward Revolution. Put your name on it and share it with me!!!
